New Look Website

While we missed the July newsletter, we have been busy. You may have noticed we've relaunched our website with a new-look. It's worth a read, we've spent many an hour on the Internet researching the facts that are found within.
It's a fascinating place, the Internet. The sources of information are almost endless, although I sometimes wonder just how credible the 'facts' are. That's why we placed a few references on our 'Sites of Interest' page so you too can read further and verify these things for yourself.

One site in particular that we found very interesting was the New Zealand Tourism's website www.newzealand.com ; here they've got all sorts of information about our visitors, what makes them happy and how to better promote ourselves. Particularly interesting is the article published after the translation of their website( extract from a Press Release, Feb 2007) revealing:
"We're very pleased with the increase in Japanese user sessions which have risen from just under 40,000 for the month of December 2006, to over 110,000 in January of this year."

The site is now available in English, German as well as Japanese.

More and more of the big names in the New Zealand tourism industry are providing multi-lingual websites, showing us that the way forward in an increasingly competitive market is indeed to speak the language of your client.

While our business is not website or search engine optimization we can provide with you some impartial advice and top tips that we've learnt ourselves while researching the viability of website translation.

For example, the use of keywords in your page source is becoming less widely used by search engines- they tend to search keyword rich descriptions found within your page.

It is a complicated thing, website promotion- no wonder we employ professionals to do it!
